A Permit to Work system is a formal, signed, documented system used to control all work activities to ensure that control measures are in place to mitigate the risk to ALARP. PTW aims to ensure that proper planning & precautions are taken with hazards to eliminate/control risks to health, safety & the environment of a particular job. PTW is also a means of communication between site management, supervisors, operators & those who carry out the job and shall clearly define the responsibilities of various personnel involved in execution of the particular work activities.
